I installed the solar coolar as instructed - and though I have tinted windows (tinted shade that was recommended by state of Missouri) and the fan responded immediately. I have to leave my car in a exposed area and it gets extremely hot - this device really helps. I use it along with a sun reflector shade.
 Don't buy if your windows are tinted even a little August 11, 2010

My front side windows are barely tinted...so I tried the unit on one of those. As it did not work at all on my dark tinted back windows. It still did not work at all!!!! I thought maybe the unit was faulty so I took it outside in the sun and it came on....
I live in Arizona and thought it would be great but does not function with lightly tinted windows.
